Daily Five Resources For Reading

My students need individual book bins to store their reading books for our Daily Five learning centers.

My Students

Do you remember how much time it used to take to find your favorite book in the classroom library? With these bins students will be able to store a number of their favorite books.

The students in my class are wonderful!

They are hard-working and have a love for learning. The school that they attend is in a rural area and many families in this area have been struggling to find jobs and make ends meet. Even though there are tough economic times, students (and their families) are doing everything they can to ensure that they get a good education.

My Project

The book bins will be used during our Daily Five Reading time. Each child with have their own bin that they could fill with the books of their choice. These bins would be filled once or twice a week by the child. When it comes time for the child to go to silent reading, he/she will grab their bin and start reading. Having the bin will help ensure that the children spend less time looking for books, and more time reading.

This project will make a big difference to the children in my classroom.

It will teach them to stay organized and will allow for more reading time. Giving the child choice will also empower the students and get them excited to learn.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
