My Students

Close your eyes and let a good story take you away to a magical land! This is one of the things an iPod and stereo will enable the students in my classroom to do!

I teach 4th grade in a self-contained classroom in Texas.

Our school is a very diverse school with many outstanding programs such as Dual-Language, Honor Choir, and TAKS success clubs. My students have many different learning styles and love to experience diverse learning opportunities in the classroom.

My Project

Auditory learners make up a large part of a classroom, and sometimes lack opportunities to learn using their primary learning style. An iPod and stereo in the classroom will enable me to share stories, educational songs, poetry, and a plethora of other resources with not only those auditory learners, but with all of my students. Kids love to listen, and why not apply that love to learning?!

This project has the potential to open the eyes (and ears!) of students who would otherwise not be engaged in a subject.

Through this project a student can use their imagination to be carried away to magical worlds, historical experiences, or scientific experiments while listening to educational resources in the classroom.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
