Learning is a Balancing Act

My students need 18 exercise/balance balls to replace their chairs.

My Students

Do not sit still! That's right--I want to give my students the ability to "balance their learning" by using exercise balls instead of our normal chairs.

Research suggests that if kids are given the opportunity to move a little while they work, they will remain engaged and focused for longer periods of time.

This is exactly what my second graders need! I believe in empowering my students and giving them exciting educational experiences that simultaneously improve their reading and math skills.

My Project

Because my second graders have so much energy, I always try to provide opportunities to move and be active. However, during the times when students are required to sit in their chairs, concentrating becomes a struggle. By giving my students the choice to use the exercise balls rather than chairs, they will have the little bit of wiggle room they need. The exercise balls will also require students to use self-control and healthy posture habits!

Providing these exercise balls for my active second graders to sit on will increase their brain's ability to stay on task and will make learning fun in a way they've never experienced before!
