My Students

Do you remember your first puzzle? Was your brain spinning at trying to figure out how to put the pieces together properly?

My kindergarten students are enthusiastic about learning.

Although 79% of the students at my school qualify for free or reduced price lunch they are inquisitive and not afraid to take risks. Once they enter the classroom my students know that their day will be filled with learning that is exciting and challenging.

My Project

The puzzles will foster an exciting and challenging environment in my classroom by encouraging my students to never give up. When one piece of the puzzle does not fit into a particular spot they will be taught how to gently put the piece aside and try a different piece.

The puzzles are important to developing a desire to never give up no matter how difficult a situation may appear.

Once my students see that they can complete a seemingly difficult puzzle, I will translate that realization into my lessons to foster their ability to tackle seemingly challenging questions in math or reading.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
