My students need a listening center so the auditory learners can learn through the use of song and my visual learners can learn by reading along using songbooks.

My Students

My students are eager to learn 3rd graders! As most of you know, in Oklahoma, 3rd grade is the 1st year the students have to take the state tests. School can sometimes be boring around this time of year, that's why my students need new, different ways to review concepts they might have forgotten!

My students love playing silly games and learning new things through different methods.

A listening center would be a perfect way for my students to have fun but also learn or review things they'd forgotten. Singing silly songs may not seem like a "lesson" to the students therefore they'll think it's fun and not realize they're actually learning new things in the process! Listening to the silly songs and reading along following the songbooks would include auditory and visual learners. Listening and seeing is how a lot of young people learn, this would include both while making it fun!!!

My Project

I have several learning Cd's already in my classroom but sometimes it's hard to find the time to incorporate them. By getting this listening center I could let the students chose what CD they wanted to listen to while letting them listen individually or in small group during indoor recess or center time. They could do all this without disturbing others who are needing extra one-on-one time with me! Having this center in my class would not only help my students learn but also help me accomplish more as a teacher, giving my students the best education I can give them.

My students would greatly appreciate your help, as a low-income, Oklahoma school it's hard to get great centers such as this one.

Some of my students don't get to use technology everyday except at school. Having this listening centers would make them excited to learn and make learning fun as it should be!
