My Students

Do you remember what it was like to play with blocks, to build a tower, to make a town, to build a bridge for your cars to drive on? You can help my students expand their learning with blocks with these items. We need people, cars, buildings, and street signs to expand out play in our block center.

My students come from a low income, high poverty area.

They are four and five-year-old students that attend a school located in a high poverty, low income, high crime area. They students need the chance to get away from all the daily struggles and play, to use their imaginations; that they are just learning how to use. They need the chance to play with people, cars, blocks and other items to pretend they are somewhere else if its just for a few minutes a day. They need the chance to play with things they can not afford at home, the chance to learn in a new way.

My Project

The block center accessories will allow my students to further their learning, to use their imagination, to explore and use their fine and gross motor skills. The community helper people will allow my students to pretend to take on the role of that person, the cars and other vehicles will allow them to take their imagination to other places. The buildings and street signs will allow my students to create a city that they can play in. These items along with blocks will allow my students to create, build, and construct learning, imagination play, and so much more. Please help them build their leaning and expand their imagination.
