We Have a Story but We Need a Voice!

My students need 6 headsets to share their stories with their friends, families, community and ultimately the world.

My Students

Give us your ear! We want to share our stories. Do you remember the excitement of having someone listen to a story you wrote, the joy you felt when they understood what you were trying to say? Please give my students that same opportunity.

My students are fourth graders in a public school in Maine.

Our classroom is very diverse academically. My students benefit from being given a variety of ways to learn. Technology seems to work very effectively and because of this we like to write and share digital stories. Digital stories are a great way for students to share their stories with each other, the community or the world.

My Project

By having headsets in our classroom students will be able to create digital stories to share with others. A digital story is simply a story brought to life via the use of technology. Digital stories often include audio or narration. When headsets are available, students are able to take their digital story to the next level and add narration which in turn makes their digital story more appealing, interesting and complex.

I know from past experience that digital storytelling increases student motivation, involvement and most importantly achievement in writing.

When students are engaged they will try harder. Please help my students by providing us with headsets. This will give students another avenue to share their writing.
