My Students

This year in my school in Queen New York my English Language Learners(ESL) are going to be studying the Teachers College reading and writing program. Unfortunately, this is a philosophy to learning and does not contain any materials. The teacher has to try to provide activities for them to succeed.

These 4 and 5 year old kindergartners are extremely curious and require various types of activities that will help them to grasp new concepts.

It is difficult for their families to buy what is needed to add to our classroom. This is a general education class with some kids that have learning difficulties so it is important that I provide differentiated instruction to all students. As of now we still need critical thinking games and books that will help to motivate learning.

My Project

The items that I am requesting will enhance our classroom greatly. Children will be able to work in small groups in order to provoke their critical thinking skills. In addition as students work together they love having these moments captured with a photograph to be displayed for all to see. This allows kids to hang their recent on a beautifully decorated bulletin board and evokes pride in their accomplishments. Most of these kids do not have these special opportunities at home.

I hope that you will consider this project worthy of consideration.

My ESL youngsters would truly benefit from these extra resources and I know would be very grateful for any new experience. Kindergarten is the foundation for a childs education and I am hoping that you will help me to give the the best experience possible.Thank You!!!
