Do you remember the old days when a teacher put a video on in the classroom? It is very difficult for my students to understand some of the concepts in my curriculum because we don't live by volcanoes, have earthquakes in our area, or live by an ocean.
I have a group of eighth graders that amaze me everyday.
So many of my students go above and beyond what I expect of them, and it gives me hope for our future. I am a new teacher to the school, and I am very impressed with how hard the staff works as well.
My Project
From time to time my students and I need a break from reading the textbook. I constantly look for ways to enhance my teaching, and sometimes videos are the best way to do that. I have many special education students in my class that can't always grasp the information as they read it, but when I show a video clip on a certain topic they begin to understand.
I am just looking for better ways to get the information that I teach across to my students.
These six Earth Science DVDs will help. I am not a big fan of videos on a regular basis, but they do serve a purpose. I am convinced that it helps some of my struggling students obtain the information.
