My Students

Do you remember having your mom and dad read to you at night? What if no one ever read to you?

My students are an active group of first graders in Louisiana.

They attend school in a very poor parish; therefore, resources are extremely limited. These children come to school looking for a safe stable environment. They want and crave new ways to learn.

My Project

A listening center is a great way to engage these students. It will help them to read books fluently, as well as, increase their love for books. A projector screen would be a great addition to our classroom. We do not have wall space to utilize the projector. A screen would increase the functionality of a projector. It would enable me to project power points, educational movies, books, etc. for all of my students to see.

Make a difference in a child's life!

Help them love and enjoy school. Help keep them engaged. Let's work together to keep these kids in school at an early age. Louisiana has an extremely high drop out rate. Let's make a new trend.
