Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first-grade class is full of curious and creative leaders! Our school is located in an agricultural community in northern San Diego County. We are a Title I school. Our school has a population consisting of over 60% of English Language Learners (ELLs) and 75% socioeconomically disadvantaged.

My students are highly motivated with a strong desire to learn and succeed!

Our school is focusing on the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) into daily learning. My goal is to provide my students with a learning environment that is not only engaging and interesting but provides them with skills and knowledge that can be applied outside of our classroom. I believe that every single one of my students deserves a high-quality education that includes access to a variety of educational materials.

My Project

In our first grade class, we love centers! We try to incorporate centers into our daily learning. We utilize centers for both ELA and math. Centers give students the opportunity to work independently on skills that they have been learning in class.

I am constantly looking for ways to make our centers more fun and engaging for students.

We would love to add some new centers to both our ELA and math centers. The rolling cart will help to organize our centers, while the headphones, magnetic letters, and alphabet stamps will give students alternative ways to practice their learning.
