We Need the Magic!

My students need 4 book sets that are on their level, but also expose them to new ideas and places around the world.

My Students

My students have never traveled anywhere. They cannot visualize the places in our Social Studies curriculum or the stories in or Reading text. They need a way to increase exposure while reading for enjoyment.

My students are the lowest level learners in their grade.

They are working to catch up to their classmates and still enjoy learning at the same time. The students are from extreme poverty, and have very little when it comes to personal supplies or books.

My Project

Magic Tree House books are amazing because they are written at an easier level, but at the same time, expose students to various places and historic events. By having the series in book and audio formats, I will be able to create longer lasting memories and allow children to increase their comprehension skills. The activity book will assist me in developing units around the book, with activities across all content areas.

This project will impact my students because it will expose them to people, places, and events that they may otherwise never learn about in their own homes.

It will build understanding and comprehension, while also creating a magical world for these high poverty students to dream of while in the classroom.
