Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These high schoolers would love the opportunity to read more and study harder. We need copies of books that they can take home with them.
Our school is international, meaning most of our students are trying to learn history and English at the same time.
We have heavy hardcover textbooks for history, but the students aren't allowed to take them out of the classroom. The books we're requesting have lots of primary sources and very clear writing in order to help students who are learning English grasp the big ideas of history, and prepare for the 10th grade Regents exam.
My Project
We use the requested books in class every day. Having a copy for each student will save us hundreds of copies every semester. It will save paper, the ink for our copier, and the planet. It will also make things easier for students who want to study past chapters. Most importantly they'll be able to take the book home to do homework.
My students want to learn more than we have time to read about in class.
Your help will ensure that they have the opportunity to practice reading, pass the Global history Regents with good scores, and become citizens of the world.
