My students need math activity stations that will help them master place value, operations, fractions, geometry, time and more that let them work at their own pace.

My Students

Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas. ~Albert Einstein Help my students become inspiring mathematicians.

My students are third graders that come from all socioeconomic groups.

They are very eager to learn and love to work in cooperative groups. My males are more interested in math, and I want to help engage the girls in this area. My students have difficulty problem solving which is a life long skill.

My Project

The stations feature 4 engaging activities, each designed for up to 4 children to work at once—with 4 sets of hands-on materials for each activity, plus a double-sided, tent-based flip book with simple, step-by-step instructions. Students work independently to find the area of a house, solve time and money riddles, sort and match fractions, and more! The stations deal with place value, operations, geometry, time & measurement, fractions, money, and numerical operations. Students are engaged in their own learning.

While interacting in a well-developed math activity station, students develop math process skills including problem solving, reasoning, communicating, connecting, and representing.

These process skills transcend mathematics, involving lifelong skills that children need to be successful in all areas of their lives. Math is important because it is the most widely used subject in the world. Every career uses some sort of math. More importantly, doing math helps the mind to reason and organized complicated situations or problems into clear, simple, and logical steps. Thus, as students learn more math, the rationale is that their minds will eventually develop into logical entity that can resolve any difficult situations.
