Vocabulary Matters!

My students need copies of 20 vocabulary workbooks to improve their academic vocabulary.

My Students

Do you remember what it's like to have an idea that you want to express but struggle to find words to express it? Most of my students are below their grade level when it comes to vocabulary.

I teach 9th grade English and my students come to my English class on all different vocabulary levels.

My goal for this school year is to make sure that my students do not struggle for words, understand the difference between street language and academic language and improve their essay writing skills.

My Project

I selected vocabulary work books that I believe will help my kids learn and retain new vocabulary words. Since my students are on different levels I will first assess their level and then come up with an individualized improvement plan for each student. I will make sure that by the end of the school year they will not only know the definition of a word, but also use the words in their daily speech.

This project is important because it will give my students an opportunity to not be judged because of how they express themselves.

Please give my students a chance to find words for their ideas!
