My Students

Middle school often is the most difficult time in a young student's life. To ease the trials of adolescence, we have created a Middle School Mentoring Program based partly on legendary UCLA coach John Wooden's Pyramid of Success. We are starting with 10 mentors this year.

Our school is a charter school in Indiana with 75 percent free and reduced lunch.

Our students come from all backgrounds and cultures, but all have created goals for themselves and their futures. Our middle school serves 225 students and we have a waiting list. We recently won a Character Education Award for Promising Practices for our Academic Coaching program. We believe in letting students discover their potential by guiding them into decision making roles within the school.

My Project

John Wooden's Pyramid of Success provided the basis not only for winning 10 NCAA championships, but also created a structure for creating leaders in life. Our mentors will learn how to inspire their proteges, gain confidence in themselves to reach their full potential and manifest in themselves a culture of excellence that will follow them throughout their lives.

By purchasing this book for our mentors, you will be part of the inspiration that so many students need today.

Our mentors and proteges will see that creating a culture and mindset of excellence requires help. They will connect what they are learning with the world outside of school by seeing that when you become a successful adult you help others.
