Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like stepping into your first grade classroom and feeling like this was your second home? Well, I want my students to step into their classroom and have that feeling.

I work at a title one school which means that the majority of the students live below the poverty line.

More than half of the students in my school are English Language Learners. My students are excited to learn new things and are eager to experience all the aspects of learning. This is because they do not have that kind of exposure outside school to the things we can provide them with at school.

My Project

I want my students to come into the classroom and see beautiful pieces of furniture instead of milk crates that hold their science supplies. I want the students learning environment to feel homey and comfortable. These two pieces of furniture will enable the students to have access to all the science supplies in a neat manner. They can go into that area and use all the materials on their own instead of waiting for me to pull them out of the closet or milk crates. I want the science area in my room to be inviting and intrigue the students to experiment within that area.

I humbly ask for your assistance in providing my wonderful students with the opportunity in having an environment that is accessible as well as pleasing to the eye.

I know years from now your generosity will continue to touch the lives of many future students.
