My Students

Imagine your favorite place that you like to read a book whether it's on the beach, on the bus or even a quiet place in your home. My students would like to share in a blissful reading solitude.

My students are majority African Americans.

They are energetic boys and girls who have a thirst for reading and learning. They enjoy reading and visiting our classroom library. Unfortunately, the books that they read must be done at their tables. My students can't experience being alone with a good book.

My Project

Using these beanbag and soft seats can provide my students with an opportunity to enjoy a reading corner. It gives my students an opportunity to get away from the group for a few minutes get away as a princess or a sailor in a book. It also gives my students a chance to work together in small groups on many assignments.

Having beanbags and soft seats will benefit our class tremendously.

My students will have a place to read independently without having other students around. They won't have to sit on the cold hard floor to read their books. They will have a chance to have a quiet reading corner to escape in the pages of their book.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
