My Students

Help us connect children with their families and one another! They need games with directions that are quick and easy to play.

Our school is a full-Title I building, which means it has a large population of families living in poverty in attendance.

We have grades Kindergarten through Fifth, and an addition 1-3 preschool classes. Each of these participates in a number of evening activities designed to help promote a school-home connection.

My Project

At the entrance to our building, we have a family resource room which contains many books, games, and school supplies available as a lending library for our families. We have discovered that as families arrive for after-school events, they like to sit at a table and play games together. Our game cabinet is lacking in games for all ages that are easy to follow and quick to finish. Game playing promotes many basic skills such as counting and color recognition as well as good social skills and conflict resolution.

This project will have an impact on an entire school and their families.

Students, parents, and teachers will all have access to the games and when we bring on the fun we bring on the learning! We have a family resource room which contains many books, games, and school supplies available as a lending library for our families.
