My students need computer accessories such as a wireless keyboard and a flash drive to enhance learning through our SMARTBoard technology.

My Students

Making math enjoyable while students learn is my goal for teaching. Students today have grown up with technology at home and in some other classes. I want that technology for my students in my classroom.

My students are extraordinary, energetic individuals, wanting knowledge.

They are students with various needs and learning capabilities. Sports, agriculture, and academics are their top school-related priorities. Family, friends, hunting, and hanging-out together are also important to my students. I teach at a pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade public school where there are approximately 300 students. The school is a "high-needs" school with most of our students receiving free or reduced priced lunches. I am THE math department; the one and only math teacher at the junior high and high school levels.

My Project

A laptop case, wireless mouse and keyboard, flash drive, cooling fan, and Microsoft Office 2010 are the items I am requesting in this proposal. My class is getting a laptop but it will not have Microsoft Office 2010, therefore, I am requesting it. My students are going to use the software loaded laptop with the SMARTBoard. Sometimes, they will be in front of the class and sometimes they will be seated. This is where the wireless mouse and keyboard will benefit the class. The requested batteries are for the mouse and keyboard. We need a laptop case for when it is not in use or have to take it out of the classroom. Some students have presentations for class. There are a few that even have to “teach” a lesson that is computer-based. I have learned that if you can teach it, you have mastered it. The flash drive is for storing their presentations. We don’t want the laptop to overheat, so a cooling fan has been requested. We need these accessories to link the SMARTBoard and laptop.

We, you and I, will be working together, teaching students about math through technology.

You will be giving them the resources and I will be providing the know-how. We will be providing math in a technology-based way, a method that benefits many students.
