Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember playing sports in high school, and discovered the real meaning of team work. Our students are educated in the classroom, but they need to learn lessons about what it means to be apart of team and to work together.

My students are in either 10th grade Modern World History or Advanced Placement World History.

I am a teacher at an inner city public high school. The school has a mission to guide students to success in college, leadership, and life by organizing and maintaining a rigorous academic program, as well as making them well-rounded individuals who participate in community service and collaborative teams and clubs. A majority of the students are sons and daughters of immigrants or immigrants themselves.

My Project

The resources that you will provide will give the students an opportunity to play a great team sport: basketball. With these generous donations, our students will use them to play games with fellow classmates, and to have an activity that will occupy their time after school. With this new basketballs, the students will be able to play organized sports, build up their resumes, and learn the value of team work in basketball.

While there is no I in team, donors like you can make a reality for my students in participating in the extra activity that will make the student want to come to school, so they can participate in activities after school.

The more engaged they are in after-school activities shows that students will do better in school activities.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
