Netbook Needed For A Kindergarten Classroom To Succeed!

My students need one Netbook computer to use with the Smartboard to help them grasp concepts easier.

My Students

My students are from high needs areas and they have difficulty focusing especially when they have numerous problems in their households. I try to incorporate hands-on activities that will help them to learn by exploring. The Notebook would be used with my Smartboard.

I teach Kindergarten kids and my students need to be challenged, feel excited about learning, work with hands-on activities and have the ability to have an outlet for their high energy levels.

It is difficult for them to sit still but with a Notebook to go on interactive websites will allow me to reach them and teach them important concepts and make them technologically savvy.

My Project

The Notebook computer will allow them to learn through exploring different websites for each subject area, learn concepts through songs and develop their literacy skills. I will explore the water cycle, money, reading and writing, read aloud novels on the computer and many other websites that will allow them to learn and grow using the computer.

This project is so important because it will allow me to go green by developing lesson plans on the computer instead of wasting paper.

It will also help to keep my Kindergarten students engaged and empower them to take charge of their own learning. Shouldn't learning be fun? Their eyes light up when I announce to them that we are going to use the Smartboard to read a book. I even teach them the water cycle through a cartoon of a water droplet that goes on an adventure! They love it!
