Learning Through Games

My students need fun and exciting games to learn basic concepts in reading and math to use during their center time. These games will make learning engaging and fun.

My Students

Learning is hard for my students. They can learn but it takes time and lots of repetition. They need fun ways to learn concepts in reading and math. Games they will use throughout the day will make learning fun and not a struggle. Learning through games my students will gain confidence.

Our school is in a moderate poverty area of Ohio that has been hit hard by the economy.

We have families doing their best to make ends meat. I have a first grade inclusion classroom where 40% of the class have special needs. My students are determined to make gains and learn but they need to feel successful at school.

My Project

All kids love to play games. Why not provide good education games to them so they can learn through game playing. Instead of working on reading and math skills in the traditional way, my students will be able to learn through role playing. The games will also provide hands-on interaction with their peers so they can develop social skills.

Since a good portion of my room has special needs it is vital I find alternate methods to educate all the students in my classroom so they are successful learners.

The games will allow my students a way to gain skills and become confident learners.
