Do you remember what it was like the first time you were able to read a book to someone else? What it was like to be able to count multiple ways to 100? The Dr. Jean cd's make learning to read and write along with math skills fun and catchy for students.

I have some of the most amazing kindergartners in my class.

Many of my students come from homes where parents do not speak English or are learning to speak English. The parents put their child's education as their priority but cannot afford to help with supplies for the classroom. We are a Title 1 school that puts a high priority on academics.

My Project

Dr. Jean cd's put fun back in the classroom while helping the students learn many important skills. Every day I skip count with my students multiple times a day. With the cd's, we will not only be able to skip count but will be able to do it to music with a very catchy beat. The Dr. Jean cd's also express the importance of phonics during the course of reading. We all know how important reading is and these cd's make learning how to read a lot of fun. Of course, none of the cd's would work without a player to use with them.

Adding a beat and a catchy tune to any lesson helps the lesson stick with the child.

After doing the same lesson over and over in many different ways, the student can lose interest quite quickly. The Dr. Jean cd's along with the cd player will allow me to add some variety to my lessons along with some fun and beat.
