Prove It With a Picture

My students need 3 digital cameras to document lessons and include photos in computer based assignments.

My Students

"I can't draw!" is often heard when students are asked to record their observations. Having digital cameras available during lessons, especially science experiments, will allow children to document their progress and results.

My school is a Title I Charter School.

Our student population is very diverse including families needing government food/housing assistance to those who could afford to feed the whole school. Because these cameras will be used in a gifted classroom, students K-5th grade will benefit from the donation.

My Project

With the help of these cameras, students will be able to record observations during experiments, photograph examples of math problems outside of the classroom, and integrate technology into their projects. The cameras will be used during shark dissection and Hands On Equations. Younger students will tour the school looking for examples of different learning styles as they assess themselves and how they gain knowledge. As primary students build bridges in the Ultimate Connections unit, they will be able to retrace their steps to improve their load-bearing structures. The possibilities seem endless.

Many low-income students don't have the opportunity to use cameras or technology at home.

These digital cameras will open the door for them. Hopefully, students will delve deeper into their assignments as they have a way to document progress.
