My Students

Do you remember learning about how plants grow using the round robin technique and that boring textbook? Well, learning can be more effective when students are able to model and apply what they have learned in their very own classroom.

My classroom is comprised of a group of multicultural students who are always eager to learn.

They attend a Title I elementary school where many of the student participate in the free or reduced lunch program. For many of them, school is the only place that they can gain access to the Internet, hands-on learning, and many other rewarding experiences. These students struggle to get the basic items on their school supply list each year.

My Project

With these materials, my children will be able to grow their own plants in the classroom while tracking their progress in their journals. Using the stamps will allow my students to create pictorial models of life cycles and plant life. They will investigate force and motion using the learning tub which contains high-interest writing projects and 40 other standards-based activities. The ready-to-use materials in the rock and soil tub will allow is to explore related concepts by examining the rock samples, using the magnifiers, and weighing with the scale. They will also be able to compare their findings using the write and wipe experiment posters and vocabulary cards. This will give them a chance to work together in an effort to explore the world of science.

This project will make a major difference in the lives of my students this year and for years to come.

I will be able to reuse the materials to inspire and enrich other classes. Many students lack exposure pleasure that science has to offer. By supporting this project, you can make this dream a reality.
