My Students

Imagine learning without any way to keep your work. That is the problem faced daily by my students who lack the funds to purchase a binder. Moreover, many of them face organizational challenges related to their learning differences. Binders and organizational materials make a world of difference!

I have the pleasure of working with an exceptional group of students.

Growing up in an economically-starved situation is challenging for any child, but it is especially difficult for children with learning differences. I watch them live through extremely trying experiences daily, and I am constantly impressed by their perseverance and strength. However, I strive every day to prepare them to be successful in their adult lives, which for my high schooler's is only a few short years away. For me, this goal is multi-faceted. It means teaching them how to be resourceful, how to create and maintain a system of organization, and how to perform basic math and science operations necessary in the "real world."

My Project

Although organizational materials may seem dry to many people, they are, in fact, the life blood of a classroom. Without such materials, students are unable to access their own work or the general work of the classroom. Creating systems through these materials gives teaches students to be self-sufficient and resourceful. The learning games bring diversity to the classroom. Multi-sensory learning is an essential part of the learning process process for students with special needs. They need to touch materials, visualize different operations, and understand that learning does not have to be painful or impossible. Games provide students with this new path to education. Both the organization materials and the learning games will allow my students to take charge of their education on a new and deeper level!

If this project is funded, my students will start their year with the necessary supplies to be successful throughout the year.

Not only will these materials allow them to learn the importance of organizational systems, but they will also provide them with a more interactive style of learning that will push their curiosity to new levels!
