My Students

My collaborative teacher and I commonly ask "Where are my Champions?" The students are inspired and scream "I am a CHAMPION!" These champions need your help with gaining access to technology to help them complete assignments and projects.

I am a 6th grade teacher in a rural school in Kentucky.

We have a high percentage of students on free and reduced lunch. We are an "under construction" model classroom! The students recently took a technology survey and I was pleasantly surprised that most students had computers at home. On the flip side, even though students had access to a computer, many of them did not have an Internet connection at home.

My Project

I am asking for 26 HP flash drives for my advisory students, along with a Kodak Easyshare camera. Students will have technology in the palm of their hand which will allow them to easily save papers and/or projects, so that they can continue to work on them at home. This will greatly benefit students who don't have access to the web. I am planning to have these students keep the HP flash drives throughout the rest of their journey through middle and high school. The students will use the camera to create different projects including videos! The students will also be able to save the pictures from the camera to their flash drives.
