Smart Kids Need the Right Green Tools!

My students need a HP color scanner and a VCR/DVD Player to help us reduce the amount of paper copies, allowing students to see images clearly on our SMART Board.

My Students

With your help we can fully utilize our SMART board, go green and help the environment, while getting the students excited and responsible for their learning and allowing them to reach their own potential!!

The students I teach are 4th graders in a public school with diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, many who come from homes where English is not their primary language.

More than half of my students receive free or reduced lunch. My students are not exposed to the necessary enrichment that is necessary for a well-rounded education. Many of my students are academically low and need additional support to help them achieve their true potential and become successful students.

My Project

I am trying to incorporate technology based learning while also getting my class to go green by reducing the amount of printed resources we use. Our class was lucky to receive a SMART board through a technology grant, but now we need the right tools to fully utilize the new technology and bring out the potential of all students. Our school has a good collection of VHS and DVD videos to help students to visual, grasp academic concepts; however we have to share one VHS/DVD player (that is on its last leg) among several classes and it would be helpful to have one in our classroom. A HP scanner would also be helpful to instantly display student’s writing/work, as well as display handouts large enough for all students to see as class instruction is presented.

We need a VHS/DVD player and HP scanner.

All of these resources will help reduce our printing and can be used by students with partners, in groups, individually, or with the entire class. These technology resources will help students with all types of learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) become successful.
