Calculating our Potential in Physics and Chemistry

My students need 11 scientific calculators so that they can learn to solve complex physics and chemistry problems.

My Students

Could you do physics or chemistry without a scientific calculator?

Previously, only about half of my college-prep high school students have had their own scientific calculator.

Without them, my high school physics and chemistry students cannot effectively work problems that involve exponents or trig functions. Learning to solve these problems is crucial in their preparation for college.

My Project

I'd like a set of solar powered scientific calculators for my classroom. We don't need fancy graphing calculators; we just need basic scientific calculators so that my students can do problems that use scientific notation or calculate the components of vectors.

Students can focus on learning science, instead of struggling because they don't have the right tools to do the math.
