My Students

If you have ever been disappointed in the bleary pictures you will understand why we need a good camera. Students like to participate in real data collection. We will take photos of plants and animals in our area and submit them online as part of a national initiative to document climate change.

My students are urban students who want to learn but need the technology to help bring them into the 21st century.

Most don't have computers at home but are anxious to learn to use technology. We plan to enter several science competitions and a good camera is invaluable when it comes to recording data.

My Project

It is important for students to do authentic work, so we will participate in a national program, in which citizens will collect data that they can use as well as scientists from around the world can use to study climate change. We will chose a location in our garden and record budding, insect activity, etc. We will share our pictures on the Internet.

Please help me make learning science fun, meaningful and pertinent.

Today's students want to use technology but many urban students don't have the equipment available to them. We feel that this project will not only help us in our studies of science but might actually be used by a real scientist.
