Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to read but they sometimes gravitate towards the same genres....comics. I want to expand their horizons and have them read novels which eventually will become #1 movies on the wide screen, such as John Grisham movies. My goal is to make them life-longer lovers of reading.

My 8th graders come to school everyday despite the obstacles in their ways....gangs, poverty, and single-parent homes.

Our attendance rate is 97% which is amazing, especially for middle school students; they love being at school and enjoy the fact that their teacher shares many of her novels with them.

My Project

John Grisham is a fantastic writer and let it be known, all his books have been made into the wide screen. His books are mysterious, intriguing, and keep you on your toes. By adding his collection to my classroom library, it will broaden the types of genres being read by all my students and is guaranteed to get them "hooked" on Grisham and those types of books which keep your brain thinking, analyzing, and guessing!

By making a donation to this project, donors will be sharing the rewards of making middle school students, life-long lovers of reading; you will assist me in helping my students see that there is much more than just reading comics!
