My Students

I teach middle school English and my students get easily tired of traditional worksheet-style lessons.

However, my middle schoolers are really motivated by opportunities to use the smart board, my school website, and any computer-related technology to enhance their learning.

They thrive on chances to create PowerPoint presentations, play technology-based review games, and to show over their computer savvy.

My Project

I am requesting three items which will help me supplement the technology that is already in my room. I would like a wireless 'eggspert' to play jeopardy style review games which really motivate students to study for tests and quizzes. I am requesting a wireless 'air' mouse so that students can give more 'professional' and interactive PowerPoint presentations. I believe this will be an incredible motivator for students when they are doing their research projects. I am also requesting a scanner so that I can post more materials on my school website. My district provides each teacher with their own webpage, and I use my to extend my classroom into my students' homes. The more materials I can post on my website, the more students will be able to interact with it, and the more students will be able to succeed.

As we move into the 21st century's information age, the more we are able to leverage technologies to enhance and enrich student learning, the more students will be motivated to learn and the more prepared students will be to join the workforce or attend college.
