My Students

THIS IS OUR YEAR! I am the varsity wrestling coach of a fourth year program, and each year our students have exceeded expectations, as we made the playoffs for the first time last year and had one wrestler go undefeated. We need basic supplies our school cannot afford with the budget crisis.

I work in a high needs, inner city school that is 99% male and students of color.

This environment does not usually lead to success, academic or otherwise, but our wrestling team strives both in the class and on the mat. Our team has an overall average over 80%, we have the valedictorian of the senior class, and we are looking for our first playoff win after reaching the playoffs in only our third year of existence.

My Project

Thanks to generous donations through donors, our team has almost everything we need to succeed. However, we do need to keep our wrestlers safe by having mat tape, and protect their gear while we practice with combination locks. These items seem trivial but they are vital to our team's continued success and well-being.
