My Students

Have you ever had to watch a movie on a tiny 19" screen along with 20 other people all sitting on the floor? This is what I ask my students do every time we try to watch a video that goes along with the class lesson.

My students do not get many opportunities to experience things like the beach, the fair, a farm, etc.

They do not have a lot to use for background knowledge when I introduce new ideas. When it comes to technology, my grade level is usually overlooked because the higher grades need it more. We also don't have a large budget for technology.

My Project

With an LCD projector I would be able to bring more of the world into my classroom. There are many great videos and activities that can be shown for all content areas - math, science, social studies, reading - during the course of the day. It is hard for me to share these videos and activities now because I am forced to ask all of the students to crowd around the computer monitor. There is always someone pushing or insisting that they cannot see. It also does not hold the entire classes attention. An LCD projector would solve many of the issues I have now.

My students would be able to see far away lands, how a caterpillar changes to a butterfly, how math is used in our everyday lives, and many other things close up if you would help contribute to our project.
