My Students

My students spend the majority of the day on the carpet but unfortunately the cost for a carpet that accommodates all, is very expensive to purchase on a teacher's salary.When students do not have a spot to call their own, it saddens me. Each of my students deserve their own comfy spot on the carpet.

My students are Kindergarten students, in an Integrated Co-Teaching classroom.

These students all share a love for books, writing, math and of course, Literacy Center Time! My students attend a Tier 1 Public School in NY. The school in which they attend provides many enrichment programs, which provides the students with opportunities that perhaps their parents could not afford.

My Project

By obtaining such a spacious carpet, I will be providing my students with enough space to call their own. My students sometimes complain that the carpet in the classroom isn't big enough to fit them all comfortably. The current carpet I have is also falling apart at the seams. Not only will this spacious carpet provide a spot for everyone to call their own, it will also allow me to provide them a comfy space where most of the days learning takes place.

This new spacious carpet will definitely have a positive impact on the way my students view "carpet" time.

Their learning will no longer be interrupted by requests for more space; more space equals more minutes of valuable learning time!
