Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Purchasing high fat foods are cheaper and easier than thinking about nutrition and health. Riding in a car or playing video games is easier than getting out and exercising. ALL children need to learn that it is their responsibility to eat right, exercise and stay healthy.

Our 300 elementary students, 95% eating free lunches have a difficult task learning to eat healthy and staying physically fit!

These children live in a neighborhood of high crime and minimal parental involvement. These students need to learn how to take care of themselves through cooking, eating healthy foods and exercising. A body drained of nutrition has a very difficult time learning and growing.

My Project

With positive direction in our school ALL the reading and cooking resources will help in guiding our students to eat and cook within their cupboards and cultural contents. The running materials will make it is possible for each child to have fun. Fun in a safe school environment of forming a running club and eventually participating in community running events.

Our students did not choose to be born in the inner city where it can dangerous on the outside.

Our students did not choose authority figures who can neglect their duties of guidance. Our students need help to learn how to survive, stay healthy both in mind and heart, and be productive young adults! Your donation will be used to purchase books on various cultural recipes and how to cook these recipes. The grant will also fund informative DVD's on exercising and pedometers to measure running.
