My Students

Last year I discovered that I had a number of very talented poets in my class. We did a presentation for our Veteran's Day program that was a huge success. Since then I have started an after school poetry club. A microphone would be a great and fun addition to our club for student recitations.

My poetry club is comprised of students who love poetry and are very talented.

It meets once a week after school and has about 20 students involved. The students will learn about famous poems and poets. They will also learn about different forms and create their own poetry, as well as display and perform it for others to enjoy.

My Project

The microphone will help the students perform their poetry. I will start each meeting with an open mike session so that students may recite poems from their poetry journals. I believe having the microphone will make the recitations so much more meaningful to the group and will allow us to go into larger venues, like reciting for classrooms, and other gatherings.

This microphone will be used for enrichment of students who are in a poetry club because they love poetry.

They are talented middle school students who will be impacting others with their passion for poetry. This club has no funding and everything that we do comes from donations from parents and teachers. The microphone will make the students feel special and professional. They will love using it and I can't wait to see them perform. Their talent is astonishing.
