My students are a wonderfully diverse group.

The varying backgrounds and abilities add variety and excitement each and every day. I have students who are accelerated, English learners, from low-income backgrounds, have learning disabilities, and so many varying talents! I have been so lucky to have a class with such enthusiasm and creativity!

My Project

I teach a music appreciation class to convey the basics of music, theory, and genres to middle school students. The students are excitedly learning how to read music and interpret what they hear. It would be wonderful if they had a chance to also create music and see what they have learned on the page come to life in sound!

Teaching a music class is so difficult without simple instruments to help the students apply the theory they have learned.

Help give these kids a chance to make a joyful noise with a new, basic set of percussion hand-instruments!
