My Students

Help us save ourselves and our work! We work very hard on so many amazing projects, but year after year these projects are removed from our computers so that valuable memory can be ready for the class the following semester.

I find myself amazed on a daily basis at the creative work that my students produce.

These students are in grades nine through twelve and work on a variety of projects. Using our Photoshop programs, we create promotional materials for school events, community organizations and our county development agencies. We also create documentaries about county and school history for our local cable channel and record and edit school events to play on this channel too. My students show a tremendous amount of potential. Many of them have been affected by the loss of a parent's (or in some cases both parents') jobs and income. So many of these students are vested in community and economic development projects that showcase our community and the spirit of our community and residents.

My Project

We are asking for 3 portable hard drives. This would allow my students the opportunity to save their work for the future as well as give me the opportunity to reuse some of these resources in future classes and situations. Students would be able to save a bit of themselves and use some of these projects as portfolio pieces for college. Many of these students pursue coursework in graphic design, advertising, marketing or computer editing fields. This allows them to catalog and reference their materials to use as they age through the school system.

By helping my students with this project, you will provide an avenue for students to save a piece of themselves while backing up their projects.

This will ease the financial burden the individual purchase of these items would cause for many of these students' families.
