My students need books for language arts class in order to participate in literature circles.

My Students

Help my students to discover a love for reading! I teach 7th grade language arts and unfortunately we have no class sets of books. The students are getting very little reading time because of the lack of resources provided.

I teach three wonderful language arts classes in a low-income school in New Jersey.

The students that I teach are way below grade level in reading and writing. The students generally love reading when they are given interesting books on their grade level. I am hoping that with the proper materials I can make a huge impact.

My Project

These books will give students the opportunity to read books that interest them and that are on their grade level. With these books we will be able to participate in literature circles, class discussions, and book talks which will inspire students to read, learn, and grow as individuals.

The books "Crash", "The Face on the Milk Carton", "The Outsiders", and "Devil's Arithmetic" are high interest books that will encourage middle school students to read.
