My Students

The stories such as Shiloh, Nate the Great, Tuck Everlasting, and many others will give my students the critical thinking skills they need to be the best readers they can be. Many students need to learn through real life experiences. These resources offers them this opportunity.

Most of my students have a parent that serves in our great military.

They make many sacrifices to keep our country safe and free. Reading is very important skill to have. In our society today reading critically is becoming equally important. Exposing students to meaningful texts is setting the foundation for these children to be great thinkers and problem solvers.

My Project

Reading "Nate the Great" and "How to Eat Fried Worms" will help my students to make connections to reading. "Shiloh" and "Miss Nelson is Missing" will help them to start making critical decisions. Reading "Tuck Everlasting" will draw them into a beautifully written work that offers critical thinking and problem solving.

Critical thinking, and problem solving are important to our life.

This is gained through real life experiences and can be taught through literature. Giving to this project says that you care about the importance of reading and the importance of life.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
