My students need 35 different incentive items, including movies, popular books, games and art supplies.

My Students

My students are working in math centers. These centers focus on different skills areas. Students are divided in groups. They are to maintain checkbooks. In the checkbooks, students record "money" earned for their center day. Students then write checks to purchase items with worked for during centers

The students at my school are 90% free and reduced lunch.

They struggled academically a need motivation to work. Math centers are their favorite time of the day. They love working for the "money" earned to purchase items for their hard work. Most of these children never get anything, except what the school gives them. This program gives them some ownership to their behavior and shows them that hard work pays off.

My Project

The items I am requesting will go into a cabinet for students to purchase with the "money" the worked so hard for during math center time. During math centers, students are working on a number of math skills in areas they struggle with. This is their favorite part of the day. Being able to purchase something with the money earned is very rewarding for my students.

This project focuses on bringing up student math skills most importantly.

It also gives students a chance to learn that hard work pays off. Students are motivated to work in groups, on math skills and show good citizenship in group work.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
