Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from economically challenged families from a Gulf Coast state. Many come from single parent households struggling to do the very best for their children. As a teacher, I am committed to doing the very best for my students so that they can go to college and be successful in life.

My students are a diverse group of fun, adventurous and mischievous children.

Most of my students are ESL learners and have a difficult time comprehending their native language along with English. By providing a relaxed and calm learning environment, I hope to put my students at ease. Being in such a classroom will foster the learning process.

My Project

Literacy is my main focus. The books I have chosen are clearly related to our theme but I feel are a perfect introduction for my students. The art items I have selected will be used to inspire my own Blue Pirates in creating their own artistic expressions.

I want my students to have the desire to come to school everyday.

By showing that learning can be fun and adventurous I hope to build a foundation for my students to add to each year on their journey to college.
