My Students

We need to find exciting ways to make children motivated to learn and with the use of a binding machine, children can make and read their books all year long in the classroom. Taking the students through the hands on process to make the books would get them motivated to learn.

Our students are 6th graders in a transformation school in Indiana.

They are low achievers and approximately 90% of the school is on free or reduced lunch. We are a title school and need help. We are one of the schools in Indiana that are in transformation and money and resources are limited.

My Project

Being able to have a binding machine will help students to see how books are made. They will be able to make and publish their own books. Binding the books would be a great way to safely store books in the classroom so other students will be able to read them.

We need to teach our students about productivity.

Making their books will surely teach them the importance of publishing books. Being productive is a part of life. Our students are coming from poverty homes and are not given the opportunity to go out into the world and learn about the resources that are available to them.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
