My Students

All of the technological advancements have left us arguably more intelligent, but more difficult to engage. Writing skills seem to be a trend of the past. Education should NEVER be a trend of the past! Our district is looking forward and looking for captivating ways to teach skillful writing.

Our 5th graders are motivated students with skewed priorities.

Time and resources are limited and our district is facing heavy budget cuts. How can we advance while so many things are regressing?! Our 5th grade team is looking to revamp our style to best meet the needs of our students while working with limited resources. We hail from a rural area in (the true) Upstate New York.

My Project

My students need copies of Woe is I to kick off our new engaging and multifaceted writing curriculum! With these particular books, our teachers will be able to get rid of workbooks and take a new hands on approach to learning writing. The books use engaging words and activities that are written in a kid-friendly style that ENCOURAGES thought and writing. It encourages independent thinking, specificity, planning, and efficient editing, all with humor. Why not learn and laugh simultaneously?? Workbooks are just that...work-books. Why not teach in a way that students enjoy? These books just don't teach writing, they encourage passion!

Like all others, our teachers are making sacrifices.

Our young team is looking to revamp our educational strategies, methods, and outlook to truly meet the wide needs of our students. We are determined to foster strong writers in our district!! Please help us to truly educate our future leaders and citizens. We see the benefit and only hope that others will get on board with us! Strong writing is strong thinking!
