Smart Board Ready

My students need a kidney shape table so we can work as a group with our new smartboard.

My Students

I teach children with Autism in a self contained classroom. I have children in grades K-3 and we use a lot of hands on materials with them. This year we are excited to get a smart board.

Children with Autism needs lots of repetition, prompting, demonstration teaching and hands on materials to truly understand what is being taught.

We strive to improve our interactive teaching methods every year. Luckily this year we have gotten a smart board to help us with the interactive part of the puzzle.

My Project

With the addition of the smart board we would like to re-incorporate a group setting by adding a kidney shaped table. That way we can all sit together around the smart board and every child will get a chance to interact correctly with the new technology. We also can use the table for such teaching tasks as social skills, small groups, one on one etc. The use of these type tables are limitless.

I wish I had the money to buy everything we need for the classroom or that the economy was better and schools had enough money to buy these tables but the reality is the money isn't there unfortunately.

This table would bring about increased social interactions, interactive experiences, help with behavior management etc. We really need your help to complete this project and help us get on our way to being the most well equipped classroom for students with Autism.
