Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The recent cuts in education have effected our class in a big way. I am usually allowed to spend $200 to order class supplies for about 25 students. Next school year, I am expected to have about 30 students and I was only allowed to order $180 worth of class materials.

My students are full of life.

They are a very animated group of students, who enjoy learning! They love hands on projects and activities. They ask great thought provoking questions and really want to make a difference! We help take care of each other, we are a family! During snack time, some students bring in extra snack for students that do not have any and so I "don't spend too much money." WE believe that, if we THINK BIG, we could do and be anything we want!

My Project

With Reading Comprehension Instant Learning Games Set students match up cause & effect, predict outcomes, race to identify main ideas and more—with fun-to-play games that provide plenty of involving, hands-on practice! Each game targets a specific comprehension skill—with enough materials for up to 4 players at once…plus a super-simple format that students can easily pick up and play on their own. Targets standards in these areas: • Predicting outcomes • Making inferences • Story elements • Main idea & details • Fact & opinion • Cause & effect My Students will reinforce comprehension skills while having fun. I hope they develop a love of learning to become a life long learner.

I teach my students that we give, not to receive, but to make a difference in someone's life.

One day when you least expect it and when you need it the most, someone will give to you! Recently, we made sandwiches for a homeless shelter. The students loved the idea of making a difference in the world. They were very proud of themselves and took pride in making the sandwiches. I would like for them to receive something fun and special because they deserve it!
