My Students

Learning to interact with customers, count back change and work cooperatively with others are important life skills. The FFA members in our new chapter are looking forward to many successful concession stand events, but have one small problem- we don't have some of the needed items!

Our school is in a rural district in northeast Wyoming.

Our FFA program is brand new this year and hasn't received full funding yet. However, we do have 22 very excited and hard working students who are ready to raise the funds we need for competition, travel, meetings, our annual banquet and yearly awards. These are exceptionally active students who are involved in sports such as football, volleyball, basketball and track. They are often also involved in student council, FCCLA or FBLA.

My Project

Providing my students with these items will give them the opportunity to develop essential life and work skills while raising money for chapter activities that may otherwise go unfunded. We are asking for a cash box in order to keep our earning safe and secure while we are conducting the concession events. We are also requesting a coffee urn for coffee sales because there is not one currently available and the agriculturists in our community are always asking for a cup of hot coffee during football games! Finally, we are requesting a pizza oven. After much discussion and debate it was decided that quick cook frozen pizzas would be a big seller at games because there is no pizza place in our small town (population 700). The students put much thought into which items would truly be the most useful to them during concession events. I can't wait to see them interacting in a positive manner with community members!

These items will benefit many FFA members for years to come and will make a lasting impact in our chapter every time we use them!
