My Students

I would love to do a fantasy fiction literature study with my younger and struggling readers. Fantasy fiction is so powerful!

My students are a high-poverty group.

They do not come to school with their own reading resources. We do not have a PTA to speak of, and our families are more likely to spend money on food and bills than books for their children. That being said, these kids are awesome! They want to learn to be good readers and writers!

My Project

These books are fabulous fantasy fiction stories for younger and struggling readers - at approximately the first and second grade level. These books include fairy books, which are extremely popular! Kids love these books and will be really excited to read them!

These books will be used with small groups of kids throughout the school this year and in years to come.

The books chosen are favorites that all kids will love - and more importantly, these books will inspire reading!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
